CRISP was established in 1993 and has grown considerably since its inception. CRISP is now regarded as a valuable asset to sustainable development in South London.
CRISP specifically aims to

- To generate income and support for local community projects and organisations

Services offered by CRISP
Waste Minimisation Reuse and Recycling Projects
CRISP supports the establishment and management of a number of Waste Minimisation Reuse and Recycling Projects. Current projects include:
OFFERS / Ex-IT Furniture reuse and ICT reuse/recycling scheme
Fonesforsafety Mobile phones reuse and recycling project providing personal safety alarms to victims of domestic violence. Pilot schemes in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow and Norfolk
Southwark Home Composting Project provision of subsidised Home Compost Kits to Southwark Residents
Community Composting Project support to the establishment of Community Compost schemes in Southwark and Lambeth
crisp student reuse and recycling project support and advice on the establishment and running of reuse and recycling schemes in all University Halls of Residence across London
Southwark CRT Reuse and Recycling Centre the establishment and development of a dedicated reuse and recycling centre for CRT (ICT and TV monitors) and ICT equipment serving Southwark, Lambeth, Westminster and the City Corporation.
Business Advice Service on the Environment - BASE
The Project helps small businesses to incorporate simple changes to minimise their effect on the environment. The guide highlights the opportunities a business can experience through the implementation of sustainable practices.
Research and Consultancy
CRISP offers research and consultancy services on Sustainable Development, Waste Minimisation and Recycling to Local Authorities, Voluntary Organisations, and the Commercial Sector - including carrying out Surveys, Audit, Monitoring, Feasibility Studies, and Project Implementation and Support.
Environmental Education and Awareness
CRISP provides support and advice on environmental issues and Sustainable Development to Southwark Schools and Higher Education Establishments, and has close links with ICCET (Imperial College Centre for Environmental Technology) and South Bank University. |
